What the cubs got up to this week
This week both the Tuesday and Wednesday Packs meeting was themed on Remembrance. The cubs enjoyed playing games themed around remembrance as well as learning about the home guard and Air Raid Precaution Wardens (ARP). Eveyone had a go at wearing on old ARP tin hat as well as learning about Blackouts and air raids.

We are one of only 4000 Scout Groups that have shown a growth in membership over the last 12 months. If you would like to view the letter please click here. Also we have received a special 'growing' poster that we will display in the foyer of the School hall during meetings
Do You Remember Polyphemus Forest?
.Last November members from Padiham Cub Scout Packs went to Darwen to help finish planting Lancashire’s newest forest (Polyphemus Forest).
Well nearly one year on and Akela went back with his dog on a cold, windy and raining day to check on the forests progress. I have included some pictures below of the forest in its current state. The small saplings that we planted have really grown over the summer and as you can see wildlife has started to move into the forest. "It always feels special when your revisit trees that you planted, especially when you know that they will stand firm for many years to come".
We plan to take the cubs back to the forest before Christmas for an evening of Wide games and a BBQ so stay tuned!
